The former professional American football quarterback Tom Brady has denied rumours that he may reconsider his big-money broadcasting deal with Fox Sports as “fake news”.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, retired from the NFL in February 2023, struck a deal for $375 million for 10-year of his services as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports but would not be taking on his new role until 2024.

While speaking to Fox Sports post-retirement, the American star confirmed that he would not be taking on his new role until after this season.

"I have appreciation for so many people that are so committed every day to showing up, to put their max effort into their life and career,” he said.

"For me, I want to be great at what I do — talking, even last week, with the people at Fox Sports, and the leadership there, allowing me to start my Fox opportunity in 2024, something that's great for me,” he added.

He also said that he wants to become really good at what he will do for the next 10 years.

"So, take some time to really learn, become great at what I want to do, become great about thinking about the opportunity, and making sure I don't rush into anything,” said the NFL legend.

The five-time Super Bowl MVP also talked about his great relations with some NFL players from other teams.

"Oh man. I will say, now that I'm not affiliated with any teams anymore, and I have strong ties with a couple teams, I do have some friends on the Dolphins that I really like,” said Brady. "I wouldn't necessarily say that I root for them all the time, but I root for my friends to do well, and several of them play for Miami."

Tom Brady is a seven-time NFL champion which is the most for any individual. He is also the only player in NFL history to win the MVP award for a record five times.
